Across the weekend from 31 August - 1 September, Young SMOU members returned to Betesda Orphanage in Batam, which they had previously visited in November 2017. Volunteers spent the day helping around the orphanage with gardening, cementing and cleaning of the premise. Later in the evening, everyone was treated to a buffet dinner on the roof of the building where volunteers interacted with orphanage children and caregivers. The following day, an ayam penyet cooking class brought volunteers and children together to learn and compete to see who would make the best Indonesian Chicken and Sambal.
