Member receives SLF Grant

SMOU helped the family of Mr Mohamed Amin Elam Din apply for the Singapore Labour Foundation (SLF) Hardship Grant. Upon successful application of the grant, Mr Amin was awarded some financial assistance to tide over the difficult period. 

On 6 December 2013, SMOU, represented by President Captain Robin Foo, First Vice-President, Mr Rahim Jaffar, and union staff visited Mr Amin. 

The SLF Hardship Grant is a lump sum given to families of union members who have died, suffered from permanent total disabilities or chronic illnesses or are victims of fire or flood. Recipients for the grant must not have a household income that exceeds $1,500 per month or $00 per captia income.
